Camey Joy

 

Hi, my name is Camey Joy. I was born in the mountains of Guatemala with a bilateral cleft lip and cleft palate. Through a series of miraculous events that I detail in my memoir “Beautifully Scarred,” I share my journey of survival, adoption, and the exceptional team of doctors who mended my cleft. My book takes you on a journey through my physical and internal scars, ultimately finding healing and identity in His scars. Despite being unable to speak clearly, at age five, I felt God’s call to sing and share with the world that Jesus is real and still performs miracles today. This mission has led me to travel the globe, spreading that message. While I may not hold formal credentials as an author, I believe that when God calls, He equips us for the task.

 

Through my book, I hope that by reading about my struggles, flaws, and triumphs—the good, the bad, and the ugly—you will be encouraged to embrace your own story. May my journey inspire you to show your scars and find strength, healing, and freedom in your vulnerability.
